Would you like to have Unshakable HOPE?

Church pastors are as unique in their calling (Ephesians 4:11-16) as any individual in their chosen profession. My heart longs to serve as one of Christ’s shepherds. When I help a person in need in some small way I feel God’s pleasure.

It breaks my heart to witness the diminishing if not total lack of hope many people experience today. I think Max Lucado’s study Unshakable HOPE may be the catalyst we all need to help us through the tough times.

None of us are immune to loss of hope. Hopelessness can range from grey skies that pass in time to raging storms with no end in sight. The timeline may be the result of a variety and even a combination of situations. Everyone will have their own unique list of circumstances weighing on their heart. If change doesn’t happen, a life once filled with joy can spiral into total hopelessness. If this sounds like the direction your life or that of a friend is heading it is my prayer that you will consider joining me for Max Lucado’s look at God’s promises for Unshakable HOPE.

With all the helpful avenues available for the mind and body (each with varying degrees of success) why not a little help and hope for the soul.

I don’t claim to have all the answers and I don’t purport to have it “all together” myself. But I do have the desire to help those individuals that God puts in my path to find a means to overcome the challenges in their life.

Come by yourself or bring a friend – but please come. Together lets examine God’s promises.

Unshakable Hope examines twelve of God’s promises that pastor and writer Max Lucado has turned to over the years to encourage himself and others. Each chapter explores one significant promise and reveals how it will equip you to overcome challenging circumstances, experience lasting security, and make wise decisions.

From Max Lucado website

We’ve never been more educated and entertained. We have technological tools our parents could only dream of, and we are saturated with information, amusement, and recreation. Yet more than ever, we are starving for hope. In fact, more people than ever are orchestrating their own deaths. In America alone, the suicide rate has increased 24 percent in fewer than twenty years. If a disease saw such a spike, it would be deemed an epidemic. People are dying from a lack of hope.

After forty years of counseling and ministry, Max Lucado has learned that nothing lifts the desperate, weary heart like the promises of God. In a world full of despair, depression, anxiety, and instability, we do not need more opinions or hunches; we need the definitive declarations of our mighty and loving God.

What are you anchored to—the circumstances of life or the promises of God? For every problem in life, God has given you a promise.
